Mostly it’s my mother. I’ve had a problem at work within the last couple days and while I was at home, in bed sleeping after third shift my mother decided to go to my workplace and confront my manager. She told my manager that she was there to talk to her because I asked her to go. I did no such thing. Anyways…my manager was already upset because she misunderstood something that went on, and when my mother started arguing with her, it made my manager even angrier. So not only have I not been able to talk to my manager to straighten out what happened before- but my mother is in there starting a fight and my manager thinks it’s because I was too chicken to come in there and talk to her myself.
Long story short- I got written up for something completely unrelated, but something that I probably wouldn’t have been written up for if my mom hadn’t gone in to start something.
I wrote my manager an apology, because right now I haven’t seen her yet and she thought that since my mother went in that I wasn’t going to work last night.
This is all a really big mess. And it’s not the first time that my mom has tried to interviene in my life and messed things up. I can’t get it through to my mother that she had no right to go in, let alone lie and say she was in there to talk to her for me. I am almost 21 years old, I work full time and I NEED my insurance through the company. To top everything off my manager put a note on the bulliten saying that she was going to cut people’s hours for not doing there job (I got written up for not checking everything on my shift list off, even though I did it) and that she didn’t care if we had insurance or not (I’m required to work at least 36hrs a week at least). I have never been written up before. And I do not believe this is warrented. I’ve been working for the company almost 6mo. with satasfactory work…. I need some suggestions on dealing with my mother and manager.
both of them fly off the handle at the stupidest things. I need my manager to take a chill pill and for my mother to take a step backwards out of my life. I need some space.
Thank you.
